what do all these have in common? fragrance & a to what do all these have in common? fragrance & a ton of other unnecessary chemicals that are wreaking havoc on your skin, allergies, hormones, & more😱

these are all products i’ve ditched for good, & switched to natural ones!! you never have to see these toxic chemicals again & your body will thank you🤍

⚡️ dryer sheets can easily be swapped for wool dryer balls and some essential oils for scent
⚡️ bath & body works perfumes & lotions can be ditched for natural ones. you can even make your own perfume with essential oils, plus this way you can choose any scent you’d like 
⚡️sprays can be switched for a plant-based cleaner like Thieves (literally cannot clean without this guy). if you’re looking for the air freshening component then create a diy room spray or use a diffuser - fun fact, diffusing essential oils will actually change an odor’s molecular structure, rather than just masking it like lysol
⚡️ air plug-ins and candles are swapped for diffusers, this is one of the big ones! 
⚡️ hand sanitizer is simply swapped out for a natural one that leaves the good bacteria alone while moisturizing your skin

motivation can be helpful to start a healthy routi motivation can be helpful to start a healthy routine. you might have been excited to start “eating clean” this January, or to start going to the gym every day. but the longer it’s been, the faster your motivation fades. the excitement just isn’t there anymore.

👉🏼and this is where HABITS come into play. we can rely on habits when our motivation and excitement for new things are gone.

i’m currently in the 3rd month of ACL rehab, which if you don’t know is usually around 9 months-1 year of rehab😅 so day in and day out, i’m working on the knee. honestly, my motivation wavers most days. i have to wake up at 5:15am (!!) monday-friday to go to rehab, and even this morning i just about turned off my alarm. but its a habit now, i get up, head to rehab, and i’m done and home by 8am. i know my knee will not get where i want if i sleep in and don’t put in the work.

you can’t rely on motivation. forming healthy habits in different areas of your life will get you where you truly want to be! ex: packing overnight oats so its ready in the morning, setting aside an hour to workout every other day, doing your skincare routine as a non-negotiable, praying before your head hits the pillow. all these things will become second nature over time

do it for yourself. do it for the future you are dreaming of, this is how you get there🤍
YOU DON’T NEED TO CUT OUT FOOD GROUPS !!!! - to lo YOU DON’T NEED TO CUT OUT FOOD GROUPS !!!! - to lose weight, to perform better, to [insert whatever people tell you]

did you know that the ketogenic diet was created and designed as medical nutritional therapy for children with epilepsy? and, i’m pretty sure you don’t fall into this category…

especially as ATHLETES, this diet is really damaging! carbohydrates are fuel for the body, quick and efficient fuel at that⚡️

carbs aren’t the reason you can’t lose weight, and cutting them out to eat high fat is not a healthy solution. you might need to take a closer look at your diet: maybe you’re eating highly processed and refined carbs with hardly any nutrients - it’s not the carbs fault !! focus on eating more whole foods and more fruits and veggies🍌🥕

a proper balance of carbs, fat, and protein will have you feeling great and performing even better on the field - if you’re a ⚽️ player like me i would check out @reilly.beatty.rd she posts amazing info!

FYI - if someone tells you to cut your fruit and veggie intake, i probably wouldn’t take nutritional advice from them
having an “off” day/weekend of eating will NOT rui having an “off” day/weekend of eating will NOT ruin your progress & goals !!

life is alllll about balance & flexibility — which, full disclaimer, i definitely struggle with. 

i’m staying with my grandparents this weekend and don’t have my regular kitchen with full control over what i eat. 

yesterday for lunch i had a pb&j with skippy peanut butter and smuckers jelly. yeah, they’re full of unnecessary sugars, artificial flavors, hydrogenated oils, and high fructose corn syrup. do i love those ingredients? heck no! but eating them for one meal won’t discount all the nutrients i eat on a daily basis. ONE meal won’t be the end because my nutrition base is strong.

later we had a delicious dinner! some sausage, potatoes, corn, & veggies!!! i love all the color from the different bell peppers & they tasted so fresh!

as a college athlete i find it difficult to release control over my workouts and meals, and this weekend was tough at first. i’m not “working out” for a full 3 days (but🏊🏼‍♀️) and ingredients are not up to me. remember, single meals or little trips will not destroy all your efforts. have fun & enjoy🌞
